My essay on pain and quilting

This is my first blog post. I'm not exactly sure how this is going to turn out. I'm more of a shoot from the hip person so here it is:

Is pain to be avoided? Our society tries to make losing as painless as possible. In many ways this is good. For example, they use to not use anesthesia during operations in hospitals. That made surgery excruciatingly painful. So what is bad? Well to be quite honest, pain is just a part of life and living. Antelope eat the grass and the lions eat the grass. Okay I know I got that from the Lion King but it really rings home true to me. Life is just one big cycle. If you take away pain you aren't really living.

Deep huh? I really want to be a professional writer. I am submitting essays and short stories to various magazines. These are my special ones.

I have also been quilting lately. Right now I have 15 quilts that I have made over the past 4 years. Right now I'm looking at quilt racks because I want to buy one. They have a ton of selection. Stuff that hang or just stay on the ground. Not sure whether to buy it on the internet or a regular store. I can't even decide if I want one made of oak or iron. Maybe I should make one out of paper machete!
